Canada’s women kicked butt in Rio: why?

Canada’s women athletes kicked butt in the 2016 Rio Olympics? But why?

I ask Dr. Cheri Bradish, Associate Professor and Loretta Rogers Research Chair in Sport Marketing at the Ted Rogers School of Management, Ryerson University. It comes down to:

  • Own the Podium – this strategic plan to identify events where Canadians can achieve podium finishes and targeting funding and training opportunities to those athletes.
  • Excellent staff in management positions, developing Canada's athletic talent.
  • The continuity of women's athletic careers within the amateur network, whereas men's team sports typically see the best athletes siphoned off into professional leagues.
  • And a million other things.  Listen to Dr. Bradish explain!
